Volosko: start at the harbour
Immediately north of central Opatija, Volosko offers a more intimate coastal scene. Take time around the small harbour, then wander through the lanes above it. It is a natural place to build a day around lunch or dinner, with the seafront walk connecting it to Opatija. Choose a restaurant for its menu and setting, and reserve directly when your plans depend on a particular table.
Ičići, Ika and Lovran
South of Opatija, Ičići brings a marina and beach-focused rhythm, while Ika offers a smaller waterfront pause. Lovran deserves longer: explore its old town before returning to the seafront. These places can be combined along the promenade, but there is no need to see them all in one day. A thoughtful visit to one town is often more satisfying than a hurried circuit.
From Mošćenička Draga to Učka
Further along the coast, Mošćenička Draga is a good choice for a day centred on its pebble shoreline and village atmosphere. Inland, Učka Nature Park introduces another side of the destination: forests, hiking and elevated coastal views. Choose a route that matches your fitness and the day’s conditions.
